"We cannot save things. Things pass away. We can only attend to relationships, to the relationships between things. It is here that we see the most beautiful images we are capable of apprehending or imagining—the relationship between a mother and a child, the racket of sunlight on pooling water, a bird alighting on a limb."

Okay you have managed to intrigue me with Mr. Lopez now, which book was this particular quote from? I'm also interested in his photographic works as well, do you have a favorite grouping?
Karen
I confess that I know nothing of his photography. These quotes are from the transcription of a talk he gave in Bali at the end of a conference. There's a link to it in my sidebar.
Lopez is one of my "mentors in print". I love his writing. He makes me want to become a better writer...
Thanks for the introduction. I'll definitely be looking up the gentleman. Karen
